Personal survival techniques (STCW table A-VI/1-1)
This course has been developed according to STCW Table A-VI/1-1. It is module 1 in the course “Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1)”. The course is approved by the Norwegian Maritime Authority, and is mandatory for anyone who has an assignment according to the emergency plan on board.
The course in personal survival techniques is a blended course, consisting of a theoretical part and a practical part. One must complete the theoretical parts through e‐learning and conduct the practical exercises at a training facility. This reduces the number of days at the training facility, as well as saving you time and money. Contact a training facility near you to arrange the practical training.
- Entering and operating a life raft
- The use of life jackets and immersion suits
- Actions to be taken by persons for self- protection in emergency situations
- Survival at sea
- Deployment of safety equipment.
